Bulk catalogue studios: ₹69 to ₹699 per photo
Studios that focus on marketplace catalogues charge per photo, usually with a minimum order.
- Lohar Studio lists Myntra fashion and model photography at ₹69 to ₹699 per photo, with ₹69 applying to bulk orders. A session covers a hero shot, a back view, a pose shot, close-up detail images and a flat-lay or ghost mannequin shot.
- ckstudio lists apparel photography at Rs. 100 to Rs. 250 per image in Delhi NCR. It says the price depends on product type, size, quantity, location and shooting time.
Both figures come from the studios' own pages, so treat them as starting points. Neither page says whether GST is included.
Freelance photographer and model: about ₹23,000 to ₹65,000 a day
A small brand shooting one collection pays for the day rate of each person. One r/IndiaBusiness post estimates a basic catalogue shoot for about 20 pieces at ₹15,000 to ₹40,000 for the photographer and ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 for a non-agency model. That is one seller's estimate, not a market average.
Added together, it is ₹23,000 to ₹65,000 before editing, location or styling. If all 20 pieces get shot in the day, that works out to ₹1,150 to ₹3,250 per piece.
A photographer answering on Quora quotes ₹350 to ₹1,500 per item or SKU in Bangalore, with a single model and a minimum of 100 items. At that minimum, the bill is ₹35,000 to ₹1,50,000.
Premium studio shoots: ₹80,000 and up
Brands that want an agency model and a full studio pay much more. SnapMyDesign, which sells an AI product, says a professional studio shoot in India costs ₹80,000 to ₹2,50,000 and above per session. Its breakdown is ₹18,000 to ₹45,000 a day for studio rental, ₹13,500 to ₹54,000 a day for models and ₹4,500 to ₹13,500 per final photo. These are a vendor's figures for the high end of the market, not an average.
AI catalogue images: about ₹15 to ₹25 per image
Repixel charges per image in credits. Plans start at ₹495 for 100 credits, credits never expire, and failed generations are refunded. At standard quality, monthly billing and excluding 18% GST:
| Resolution | Credits per image | Starter plan | Pro plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1K | 5 | about ₹25 | about ₹15 |
| 2K | 7 | about ₹35 | about ₹21 |
| 4K | 10 | about ₹50 | about ₹30 |
The full plan and credit table is on the pricing page.
The input is a flat-lay photo, a mannequin shot or a CAD file. In each pair below, the left image is the flat lay that was uploaded and the right image is the on-model image generated from it.

Cost per SKU: how the options compare
Price per photo hides the real question, which is what one finished SKU costs. A marketplace listing usually needs several angles, so this comparison assumes 5 images per SKU. Change the number to match your category.

One SKU as a set of five generated images from Repixel's Catalog tool, with the same model and garment in every frame.
| Option | One SKU (5 images) | 20 SKUs (100 images) |
|---|---|---|
| ckstudio apparel rate | ₹500 to ₹1,250 | ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 |
| Lohar Studio range | ₹345 to ₹3,495 | ₹6,900 to ₹69,900 |
| Bangalore photographer (Quora), per SKU | ₹350 to ₹1,500 | below the 100-item minimum |
| Day shoot, about 20 pieces (Reddit estimate) | about ₹1,150 to ₹3,250 | ₹23,000 to ₹65,000 |
| Repixel Starter, 1K standard | about ₹124 | about ₹2,475 |
| Repixel Pro, 1K standard | about ₹76 | about ₹1,515 |
Three things change these numbers.
- Plans are paid up front. Repixel's Starter plan is ₹495 for 100 credits, which is 20 images at 1K. For 100 images you need a larger plan, such as Plus at ₹4,495 for 1,250 credits. You pay the plan price, use about ₹1,800 of it on 100 images, and the rest stays in your account because credits never expire.
- Retries cost credits. A failed generation is refunded, but a result you simply do not like is not. Budget for generating more images than you publish.
- Studio prices usually include more than the photo. The studios above bundle a human model, lighting and basic editing. The day-shoot figures leave out retouching, location and styling.
Which option fits your brand?
The right choice depends on volume and on what the image has to do.
- A few SKUs a season, and you want a real person in the photo. A day shoot or a bulk-studio quote is a reasonable fit. Ask for the per-image price and what editing is included.
- A steady flow of SKUs. Compare cost per SKU. At 100 images, the lowest studio rate in this guide (₹6,900) is still almost three times the Starter-plan AI figure (₹2,475), before you allow for retries.
- The same model across a whole collection or many colourways. Repixel lets you save a cast of models and reuse them across SKUs, which a one-off shoot cannot do after the day ends.
- A campaign hero image. In our view, a real shoot gives you the most control over pose, light and styling, and it is worth paying for when one image carries a launch.
Check every image against the real garment
Cost is only half the decision. Shoppers notice when a product photo does not match the garment. In public Reddit threads, shoppers say "AI often changes the way garments actually look" (r/Fashion_Design) and "The AI models aren't an accurate depiction of how the actual item looks" (r/BehindTheClosetDoor).
Whichever option you choose, compare each final image with the real garment before it goes live:
- Colour. Hold the image next to the garment in daylight.
- Print and embroidery placement. Check that motifs sit where they do on the real piece.
- Length and fit. Hems, sleeves and necklines should match the garment.
- Trims. Buttons, zips, tassels and stitching should be the ones on the product.
- Texture. Fabric should look like the fabric you ship.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a fashion photoshoot cost in India?
Bulk catalogue studios quote about ₹69 to ₹699 per photo. A one-day shoot with a freelance photographer and a non-agency model is estimated at ₹23,000 to ₹65,000 for about 20 pieces. Premium studio sessions start around ₹80,000. AI tools charge per image, from about ₹15.
How much does a model cost for a day in India?
One r/IndiaBusiness post estimates ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 for a non-agency model for one day. SnapMyDesign, an AI vendor, gives ₹13,500 to ₹54,000 a day for models at the premium end. Agency models and usage rights can add to either figure.
How many photos does one SKU need?
It depends on the marketplace and category. Lohar Studio says Myntra requires front and back views for most apparel categories, and lists a third pose and close-up detail shots as extras. This guide assumes 5 images per SKU. Check your marketplace's current seller guidelines before you decide.
Is AI photography cheaper than a studio?
Per image, yes: about ₹15 to ₹25 at 1K quality against ₹69 to ₹699 at bulk studios. The gap is largest against a day shoot. Plans are paid up front and retries use credits, so your real cost depends on how many generated images you publish.
Can I try Repixel before I pay?
There is no free tier, and new accounts start with 0 credits. Starter costs ₹495 plus GST for 100 credits, enough for about 20 images at 1K. Credits never expire, and failed generations are refunded.

Repixel turns a flat lay, a mannequin shot or a CAD file into on-model catalogue images. Look at the Catalog tool and the other 12 tools, browse sample outputs in the gallery, or check current plans.
